Monkeys are passive mobs.

Monkeys spawn in all types of forests. They flee away from players nearby. If a player hold peaches and keep still, the monkeys will slowly move towards the player. The player could give the monkeys a peach by right clicking. The monkeys would trust him and won't flee from him if he does this.

Monkeys can be bred by trusted players using peaches or apples.

Another easier way to be trusted is playing Chinese flute near monkeys.
